LeGarrette Blount....really, fam?

...aight..so....i don't know how many of y'all actually watched this game, cuz unless you were on the west coast, your night was either just beginning or you were on your way to bed like i was....if you are awake now (which most y'all should be) and you caught Sportscenter this morning, you probably saw Oregon RB LeGarrette Blount plant homie from Boise State on the blue turf with a right jab. now, dude had talked a considerable amount of shit concerning this game about what he and the Ducks were prepared to do after taking the L at home to these same Boise State Broncos last year, 37-32. while defeat is always a bitter taste for a competitor, that game was most infamously marked by some flagrantly late hits by Boise State players, one of which took Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli out of the game with a concussion. so when asked by Sports Illustrated about this game, Blount was quoted as saying, "we owe that team an ass whooping." interestingly enough, dude was a lot closer to handing them that in last year's loss. he had a rock solid performance (18 carries, 99 yards, and a TD). this year, neither he nor Oregon fared nearly as well. they were restricted to 8 points and Blount was held to, ironically, 8 total yards (one less than his jersey number). at least the nigga got a 2 point conversion in tho, l m a o.

...yesterday's show

...aight..so..yesterday...for those that follow me on twitter (http://www.twitter.com/F_ckDumbItDown for those that don't)...you prolly saw all my updates talkin about the Rock the Bells show @ 930 w/ Supernatural, Slum Village, Reflection Eternal and Slaughterhouse w/ Pete Rock hosting..but...as this picture above shows..Slaughterhouse wasn't there...which was much to the disdain of prolly 80% of the people in attendance..including me..i fuck w/ SV and Reflection..but the majority of the reason i spent $40ish on my ticket was to see Slaughterhouse doin some of the album cuts...

...but moving on..doors opened @ 7....but they pretty much played music until about 9 pm...they ain't even do soundcheck til then...and none of the artists had made any appearances or anything like that..so..we actually cyphered for about 45 minutes..i jumped in and started doin my wack rapper thing i do from time to time...once all that was over..and i did a lil bit of conversing....FINALLY at close to 9:30, Pete Rock hit the stage..got the crowd hype..took it back w/ some 90s hip hop...predominately joints he produced..that kinda set kinda gives you an appreciation for not only the work Pete's put in over the years..but also, how much classic and timeless material we've been able to accumulate in thing of ours...

..he brought out Supernatural..and i've heard this guy's name quite a few times over my 20 years..but i've never seen him in action...if you love raw hip hop and pure skill and you are unfamiliar like i was before last night....i definitely can co-sign checkin him out..dude has been called 'the freestyle king' and i can attest to it being a fitting moniker..first he came out just freestyling off things he was seeing in the crowd..then he took 2 words from the audience..and one from Pete Rock and flipped each of them in a separate verse..then he had cats in the first couple rows hold up things he could grab and improv on...that shit was SICK...a cat held up his razor phone, he told dude "this phone a lil old, you need to upgrade.."..l m a o...i held up my pad cuz you know i keep that wit me...he was like "i rip shit off the top..i'ont need a pad.."...then shook my hand..then he proceeded to do that type shit for about 20 or so other random things people in the crowd held up...seriously..dude is ill...i think his set mighta been the livest..

..then after what felt like Pete Rock spinning for like 45 min-1 hour...Slum Village came out..i gotta say..i'm hella ashamed as a hip hop fan..i didn't know nearly enough of they lyrics...El and T3 put on a dope ass show nonetheless, tho...kicked shit from their forthcoming "Villa Manifesto" project..which sounded uber promising...more well known joints like "Selfish" and "Tainted"..and classics like "Raise It Up" and "I Don't Know"...T3 is mad energetic on stage..and El is hella cool....but they ripped shit down...

...Kweli was the most anticipated cat of the evening for me, since Slaughterhouse couldn't be there...and he definitely didn't disappoint..he and Hi-Tek ran seamlessly thru banger after banger...from some of the more recent stuff like "Hostile Gospel", "Say Something" and "Never Been in Love"...and CLASSIC Reflection Eternal shit...the joints that make Train of Thought one of my 10 favorite albums ever..i'm sure he did "The Blast" (but i had to go cuz Metro don't give a fuck about me in particular)...but he rocked "Eternalists", "Down For The Count" "Memories Live".."Move Something" and "Too Late"..his set brought me back to when i was 11, ridin around wit my cousin listenin to that album...

...overall, it was a great night despite some sloppy execution at first...AND i went to the studio earlier that day..(can you say new Fleetwood shit?...go ahead..say it)..but it was a dope day if you a hip hop lover..which i am...i'm kinda likin this DC shit...
